Robotics/software engineer with 3+ years of fast-paced C++ programming and R&D experience and an M.S. in ECE from the University of California, Davis. Throughout my academic and professional career, I’ve had the pleasure of working on full-stack robotics, ranging from the low-level stack (embedded systems, sensor integration/calibration) to mid-level (actuator kinematics, feedback control systems, localization) and high-level research in motion planning, perception, and behavior.I’m a lifelong learner with an appreciation for context and detail. I believe attention to details and awareness of their contexts allows us to see a full picture of the work that we do, which we can use to make informed design decisions and create innovative solutions. When I’m not building robots, I’m usually playing basketball, swimming, weightlifting, or spending time with those close to me. I find fulfillment in new ventures and continually improving myself.

Graduate Student ResearcherUniversity Of California, Davis Jun 2016 - Sep 2017Davis, California, UsBio-Automation Lab in the Bio-Agricultural Engineering Dept. at UC Davis- Independently managed autonomous differentially-steered 4-wheel robot designed for strawberry field traversal. This included assembling, designing, and debugging all electronic circuits, as well as maintaining and fixing the robot’s mechanical components.- Collaborated with Professor and colleagues to identify and divide field traversal problem into workable sub-problems. Sub-problems were assigned to different members of the team.- Designed software/hardware solution based on system’s limitations and specifications.- Implemented and stabilized software/hardware solution. This included pose estimation via sensor fusion using a Kalman filter, establishing reliable communication between on-board microcontrollers, MATLAB, and ROS, and tuning performance of pure-pursuit path tracking algorithm.- Interfaced with various sensors, such as RTK-GPS, IMU, and wheel encoders.- Wrote MATLAB programs to simulate robot kinematics and pure-pursuit path tracking algorithm.- Designed and carried out repeatable, realistic experiments at the strawberry field to test robot’s performance.- Gathered experiment data over many trials and analyzed data to determine robustness.- Studied published research papers on related topics to familiarize myself with work that had been done in the past. Summarized past work and compiled my own research findings into reports.- Wrote and maintained documentation for robot’s operating procedure for future team members to reference.- Maintained git repository for version control and tracking changes to the code.
