I began as an intern with Caldwell Entertainment in the spring of 2019 and was heavily involved in the production of the annual 4th on Broadway event that same year. After a few months of interning with both Caldwell Entertainment and Broadway Festivals, Inc. (the nonprofit organization that puts on 4th on Broadway), I was hired on part-time while finishing my B.A. in Public Relations and M.A. in Mass Communication at Texas Tech University. After earning my degrees and finishing school in December 2020, I was entirely dedicated full-time with Caldwell Entertainment as Production Coordinator and with Broadway Festivals, Inc. as Event Director. I was proud to call Lubbock home for four years, took great pride in West Texas and was devoted to the tight-knit and kind community. My time at Caldwell Entertainment and Broadway Festivals formed greater appreciation for the abundance of experiences and all opportunities I had the privilege to take part in.Since both companies had minimal full-time staff, I had the role of wearing many hats during my time employed in Lubbock. Because of this, my knowledge and understanding of the industry grew tremendously. I got to emcee multiple shows on stage, interview with local television and radio stations, create graphic designs, co-manage all social media accounts for each company and additional projects, edit websites, work behind the scenes during television productions and studio recordings, understand and learn the process of grant writing, supervise and delegate job responsibilities to many interns and volunteers, produce multiple live shows and learn to always be one step ahead in any planning process... that's just to name a few hats I wore. While working on my master's degree, I had the opportunity to become a teacher's assistant for an undergraduate public speaking course in the College of Media and Communication at TTU, while taking 12 hours during my first semester as a grad student. I led two classes twice a week, 25 students in each class. I had the responsibility of planning out and teaching students material, evaluating and grading multiple speeches throughout the semester and working efficiently with fellow TAs and the lead professor. Although it was the spring of 2020 and classes moved online abruptly, this experience taught me more than I could have imagined, and, gave me greater insight to how I could effectively take this time and apply it to my career in the entertainment industry.
