Promoted to manage the start-up and continuing operation of a 1.1 million sq-ft processing and warehousing facility in Joliet, Illinois servicing General Motors with five direct reports and 140 indirect reports across two shifts. Responsible for all aspects of the facility’s operations including Safety, P&L, Customer Service, QMS, Inventory Management, Strategic Leadership, and Continuous Improvement.-Provided strategic operational leadership during frequent deviations from the original start-up project scope including a 32% increase in beginning inventory receipts against the initial 2,200 truckload estimate ($150 million inventory value).-Mentored the operations team in transitioning from the start-up phase to normal business operations which involves receiving an annual volume of over 1.8 million automotive components from 4,000 North American General Motors dealerships and preparing regular shipments to over 65 remanufacturers across the United States.

Represented the Operations Team during the implementation of Infor CloudSuite Industrial (version 9.0). Performed extensive testing and recommended necessary modifications to the base system modules including workforce and machine capacity planning, production scheduling, production tracking, and inventory transactions.-Developed specifications for software forms which improved production efficiencies and included poka-yoke mechanisms.-Documented Operations Department system procedures and trained all production operators.

Managed all shipping, receiving, and material handling activities within the production facility and an off-site warehousing facility.-Instituted a cycle count program that increased inventory accuracy from 83% to 98% and saved $110,000 annually by eliminating the need for an annual physical inventory shutdown.-Reduced safety incidents by 25% within the first six months by reinforcing safety policies and procedures.

Controlled and distributed over 3,000 documents including material safety data sheets, customer specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and production process documentation.-Spearheaded the company’s initial ISO 9001:2008 certification.
