I am currently a student at Columbia University pursuing a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am also a Project Engineer at NYC Department of Environmental Protection where I manage contracts to ensure that the intercepting sewer system performs at peak operational capacity and is in structurally sound condition. I work alongside 2000 employees to help ensure that over one billion gallons of water is processed daily. While in this position I have learned how to use programs such as GraniteXP and GIS mapping software to improve workflow, identify trends, and pinpoint problem areas that required maintenance. I am open to learning more software to streamline the engineering process. I have also done structural condition assessment of these assets so that we can send them out for capital repairs if necessary. Being able to combine academic knowledge with real world logistics is one of the key lessons I have learned from this position and I look forward to taking on roles that apply knowledge obtained from the classroom to real world problems.
