I am a Partner at McKinsey & Company, leading support on digital government and digital trade globally.I spent my early years at McKinsey digitising banks and financial institutions. I took this expertise to government where I have served most of the large UK departments. For a lot of my work we partner with tech providers and organisations who bring niche expertise. Most recently I led our support forming a consortium of five organisations to build and operate a £100m+ service which went live in just 12 weeks as a forced ‘big-bang’ release. This build received praise at senior levels of government for delivering under intense pressure.I lead our digital trade service line globally, working with governments and private sector to modernise how the trade border works. A country’s trade border typically involves 10+ government agencies and 50+ government IT systems. The value opportunity is in % GDP and the methodologies for where to start and how to overcome the cross-government complexity are now proven.
