Sam is a software guru with an affection for UX. At age 16, he built his first iPhone app, “How High Can I Throw My iPhone?” Although the app never made it to the App Store, it kick-started his addiction to software development. Sam graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Informatics where he learned user experience design, project management, and software development. After college, Sam worked at OfferUp as an iOS software engineer. Then in February of 2019, he left to work on a digital health startup, Ventrk, full-time. He spent 5 years working on Ventrk and continues to be a consultant and advisor for the business.Sam lives in an isolated cabin deep in the forest and always smells like smoke from his wood stove. In his free time he enjoys kiteboarding, biking, lifting weights, playing the piano, climbing, wilderness backpacking, and learning new things.
