An interdisciplinary student-led startup empowering small industrial emitters across the EU to plan and execute cost-effective Carbon Capture and Storage projects with end-to-end digital solutions.

KLM’s buildings at Schiphol-Oost face significant energy demands due to their size and intensive use. To tackle these challenges, a team of six interdisciplinary students—comprising architects, multi-machine engineers, and sustainable energy engineers—collaborated to explore and implement solutions within the existing electrical infrastructure. The project focused on enhancing technologies such as solar panels, heat pumps, and energy management systems, aiming to improve system efficiency and contribute to KLM’s Safety Investigation Risk Analysis and future sustainability goals. The team conducted on-site testing and worked closely with stakeholders from CW&D, 4AMS, KLM, and Schiphol.Key learnings: -Conducting a detailed analysis of current energy consumption data to identify peaks and inefficiencies.-Developing simulation models to test various scenarios and evaluate the impact of different solutions-Designing advanced control algorithms for balancing energy supply and demand, incorporating battery storage and HVAC systems. -Maximizing solar energy utilization through strategic deployment and management of solar panels.-Facilitating energy exchange between buildings and systems to enhance efficiency and manage peak loads.
