PerfectServe is the leading SaaS platform, as referenced by Gartner and KLAS, that automates clinical communication and collaboration workflows to overcome challenges and obstacles that impede patient care.

I started PerfectServe by inventing the v.1 prototype of what later became the largest SaaS care team collaboration platform in the healthcare industry. The company grew to serve more than 500,000 physicians, nurses and other care team members across 300+ hospitals and 28,000 medical practices and post-acute provider organizations. In 2018, I led the company to a successful nine-figure exit to K1 Investment Management. This journey required guiding the company through three major growth transformations including: Start up in the ambulatory care market (1997) and national expansion (2001), entry into the hospital and integrated delivery network (IDN) market (2005), and evolution from a physician-contact management solution to a leader in the clinical communication and collaboration product category (2014).I drove efforts to develop and refine a disciplined enterprise sales process that resulted in winning numerous million-dollar plus contracts among many of the nation’s leading health systems, including Advocate Health Care, Ascension Health, Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Hermann, Mercy Health, WellStar, St. Joseph Health, Spectrum Health, the MemorialCare Health System and more.PerfectServe clients commonly experienced a ~68% reduction in nurse-to-physician communication cycle times—enabling clinicians to expedite care team collaboration and speed time to treatment. Documented client successes include a 3x increase in stroke patients receiving tPA, a 24% reduction in code blue events, a 40% reduction in time from ED door-to-inpatient bed and an 11% increase in ED patients seen.After the sale of the company to K1 Investment Management, I led three follow-on acquisitions including patient communications software provider CareWire, Inc., care team collaboration competitor TelmedIQ and physician scheduling AI software developer Lightning Bolt, Inc.Upon my departure as CEO, my Glassdoor ‘Approval of the CEO’ rating was 88%.

Voice-Tel was an early pioneer in interactive voice messaging. The company was acquired by Premier Technologies, and I left to start what eventually became PerfectServe.

Milepost was a full-service marketing communications company serving Midwest first- and second-tier automotive parts suppliers and manufacturing organizations.
