After leading one of the most innovative and dynamic emergency services chaplaincy programs in Australasia for the past ten years, I have now moved into a new role as General Manager - Onsite & Pastoral Services and Principal Chaplain at EAP provider, Converge International. In this strategic position, I aim to shape the future of workplace pastoral care and mental health support within the 1,200+ organisations Converge partners with. Through our trusted and innovative programs, we make qualified wellbeing consultants accessible in the workplace so we can support and journey with employees as they navigate the challenges and complexity of our current times. As an industry thought leader, I will work to normalise spiritual wellbeing as a necessary component of holistic health, and partner with peak bodies to ensure Spiritual Care Practitioners provide consistent, evidence based care across all sectors.With over 25 years experience within the emergency services and healthcare industries, I have recruited, trained and mentored high performing teams of multi-faith chaplains delivering pastoral care, social support and wellbeing initiatives to first responders, 000 call takers, dispatchers and support staff. I also provided specialist chaplaincy support to NSW Ambulance’s Counter Terrorism, Emergency Management and Special Operations Unit, having developed crucial experience in managing staff support at high risk events such as the Lindt Café Siege (Sydney, December 2014). This event was one of Australia’s most high profile terrorist events, exposing over 110 staff to unprecedented physical danger and mental health challenges, for which I was awarded a Unit Citation for my role in leading the recovery of those who responded. In 2020 I joined St John Ambulance (NSW) as a volunteer clinician, providing medical support at concerts and large capacity sporting events. I also provide Emergency Management expertise to the Granville Combined Division assisting as a member of the LEMC.In early 2021 I co-founded Responder Wear, an online business developing and providing specialised medical equipment and life saving advanced care supplies to national and international First Responders. This business caters especially for volunteer First Responders to ensure they are equipped with the tools needed to save lives. I am passionate about workplace spiritual care and chaplaincy, bringing spiritual leadership and responsive pastoral care into the government and business sector, and mentoring the next generation of chaplaincy leadership.
