S4K Research, founded in 2000 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a unique consultancy firm whose mission was to help companies inspire and prepare their managers for their business challenges. I was hired to launch S4K in the UK market and within 4 years we had three banks, a postal service, a credit card company and a mining house amongst our clients.

I was invited to start-up a company in Carlisle to provide an exemplary service in Asbestos removal and related services in the wider region. The LLP formed in 2007 was a great success and continues to expand its operations nationally, now within the limited company by which it was acquired.

I set up Matrix BCP as a specialist venture to help an international oil company develop robust and tested strategies to enable them to recover quickly and efficiently in the wake of crisis or disaster. Working with the clients staff in their European HQ, Nigerian office and field operations (Abuja & Port Harcourt), an approved business continuity plan was designed, documented, and tested for their extensive offshore and onshore oil facilities. The plan was successfully implemented by my team.

Prior to forming a limited company, I spent 18 months seconded to a major container glass manufacturer with a strategic interest in re-cycling. Liaising with suppliers, local authorities (“LA”) and government agencies such as WRAP we were instrumental in influencing LA recycling developments, working with key stakeholders to gain agreement on solutions to their financial and operational issues.

I ran the company in UK / Europe and was responsible for sales, analysis and project delivery, selling and delivering 12 projects’ bringing £4m fees, whilst generating at significant ROI for our clients.

Based in South Africa, I progressed through the company from consultant, project manager, senior project manager, senior analyst ending up as head of analysis. I worked in Southern Africa, Malasyia and the UK, before transferring with the company to England in 1996.

I managed numerous business improvement projects in a range of public and private sector organisations

Responsible for financial control, software project supervision, foreign currency and investment management and offshore capital funding, I also contributed to a significant $1m international contract negotiation.

Financial controller in the UK Manchester office, I had responsibility for overseeing the financial performance of multi-million-dollar construction projects in Germany, the Middle East and South Africa. I moved to South Africa on assignment to SA Breweries to oversee the installation of project control software, and was later promoted to run the IT department for the Fluor Johannesburg office. I supported the research and sourcing of CAD software for the design department.
