Cliff joined AAM I June, 2021 as its President and Chief Invesment Officer. Prior to AAM, Cliff was Exec. Chair of Insight's North American business and a member of the global Executive Management Committee. Previously, he was CEO, CIO and a founding member of Cutwater Asset Management. in January 2015 BNY Mellon’s acquired Cutwater Asset Management and it became part of Insight where he Chaired the Corporate Loan Committee and voting memberships of the Real Estate Loan Committee, the Structered Credit Committee and Illiquid Credit Committees. Cliff joined Cutwater, a solutions-based fixed income manager, in 1994 where he helped found the platform. He guided the firm's growth to approximately $30bn in assets under management and was the architect of the investment platform as CIO. Prior to joining Cutwater, Cliff served as a senior multi-sector fixed income portfolio manager at Alliance Capital Management. Throughout his career he has also served as a credit analyst, lender, restructuring specialist, trader and chief investment officer. Cliff was an early pioneer in the secured and credit derivatives markets, developing several investment programmes starting in the 1990s, expanding this area to create cash and synthetic CDOs and conduits. He is a frequent guest on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and has lectured on finance at various universities. Cliff holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and an MBA from Columbia University. He maintains Series 7, 24, 3 and 63 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and is a member of the Fixed Income Analysts Society. He is also an Associated Person (Series 3) with the National Futures Association.
