E4E (formerly Absolute Quality) is an independent test-house that looks after the outsourcing needs for publishers and developers for a range of services centred around QA and Customer SupportI was accountable for global delivery of all E4E’s interactive entertainment services spanning QA and Customer SupportI ran and maintaind e4e’s offices in the UK, US.

• I built 2X QA departments at RTW: Embedded QA/Publishing QA
• I hired over 140 staff (team size of 100 - the surplus were promoted into other departments)
• Pitched for and secured significant additional funding for QA growth both internally from the board of directors and also though the Scottish Government in the form of grants
• Developed the QA department into a talent pool the rest of the organisation is able to draw from.
• Recruited and built a team of test engineers, giving them direction and focus (requirements) for test automation and other QA tools
• Prepared and executed live product demonstrations for publishers, investors, press and partners, from both the East and West adapting the format accordingly

• As a QA project lead I was responsible for the everyday running of the QA process on any given franchise in test. I would ensure that the test team are prepared for the next phase of the project, e.g. language.
• Managed teams of up to 60 heads
• Guide, teach and train the QA team leads
• Primary point of contact between senior management team, black box team and development team
• Create a test strategy and test approach prior to QA starting on a new product
• Create and implement a master test plan for each product (I based these loosely around IEEE 829-1998)

• Interview candidates for testing positions
• Assign test tasks to Black-Box testers
• Accountable for security of all test media
• Confirmation and validation of all bugs found against the software
• Organise and maintain employee shift patterns
• Organise regression testing and maintain bug databases

• Manage the daily sign out, collection and security of test media
• Guide, teach and assist testers in their role.
• Collate and report feedback on software in test.
• Perform milestone checklists.
• Write test cases against both software and design documentation.
• Generating test metrics (defect capture rates, cumulative coverage percentages, knock on rates, predictive reporting).

• As an off-site tester I was embedded within various development teams. My duties included:
• Ownership of Smoke testing / build verification testing to ensure each build was of a sufficient standard to be sent to the black box test team for a full test run.
• Main point of contact between development team and UK studio based test team.
• Review and assist in the documentation of design changes and functionality and ensuring major functionality issues are found prior to green-lighting the main body of testing.
• Working directly with developer cells to ensure fixes are implemented correctly.
• Perform testing in line with Agile & Scrum development methodology. Maintain accurate change logs.
