While I was at Northrop, I developed websites and a server for a new product within the company. Standard web development tools and languages (HTML/CSS/Javascript/jQuery) were used to develop the frontend and java with Tomcat Servers and MySQL were used to maintain the backend. What I mainly did:- Started a website/server from scratch.- Designed a modern UI and UX, using Material/Flat Design principles. - Ported some features of their excel program written in Visual Basic to the website.- Connected the server to a MySQL database and processed User logins/logouts.- Automated user commits to the MySQL database.- Deployed the project in roughly two months.- Introduced Material/Flat Design to the developers there and got them to use it hence forth.- Presented the finished product to the entire team.- Left Easter eggs on the website :) I had no previous web development skills prior to this internship, so it was a great experience to dabble in it. This was also my first internship, so it was quite memorable.
