I'm currently leading the Well Watch Program and the Caring for Our Watersheds Program at the Poudre Learning Center. The purpose of both programs is to educate young individuals about our water resources, so they can become well-informed active citizens when water issues arise. Well Watch is a community-wide program that monitors wells on school grounds and works with teachers to give students the opportunity to be involved with real life science investigation. The purpose of this program is to enable students to ask high level inquiry questions that will be useful in their future careers. Well Watch staff provide workshops for teachers to build content-background knowledge on groundwater science, train teachers in water quality testing and data entry, provide water testing kits, assist teachers in integrating the program into their curriculum, assist schools in locating nearby water wells, update and improve the Well Watch website, support teachers and students, and track schools’ progress.The Caring for Our Watersheds program is an environmental and educational competition that encourages high school students to use their creativity to come up with solutions to address a problem they have identified in their local watershed. Students are asked to submit proposals of a solution they have developed to address an environmental concern they have about their local watershed. Students who make it to the finals receive funding to implement their solutions.Caring for Our Watershed staff introduce the program to teachers and students, assist and support teachers and students, contact and recruit schools, recruit judges and mentors, judge the written proposals, organize the competition and banquet, track project implementation, and build strong and positive relationships with students and teachers.

The BRINK lab is developing a report to improve access to socio-economic rights for communities in Boulder. We are specifically writing a policy brief that seeks to inform the City of Boulder on how to ensure that all communities have accessible forms of sustainable transportation as Boulder County transitions to a low-carbon economy. We are currently investigating which transportation programs are available in Boulder, what services they provide, and how they work.

Student Assistant IIs of CU’s Campus Dining Services are responsible for setting up and closing the dining area, be familiar with the eight food allergens identified on campus, make sure the dining experience is satisfactory, open/close cafeteria, operate registers, supervise student workers, attend to customers’ needs with a positive attitude, and help students who dine with us feel at home. SA Is report directly to SA IIs.

Under the direction of the Custodial Foreman, and guidance of the lead night custodian, I was responsible for cleaning and maintaining an area of an elementary school and a kids care clinic. I learned how to operate cleaning equipment and how to respond under pressure while maintaining courteous and professional relationships with staff and public.I had to leave the position since I relocated to Boulder for college.
