Principal, Team Leader - Msit Alerting, Infrastructure Incident & Escalation Mgmt

Redmond, Washington, Us

Microsoft IT is one of, if not the largest “IT Shop” in the world. I am proud to be a part of the Service Delivery and Operations organization, leading a global IT Operations team. The team is comprised of several Service Leaders designing, developing, and delivering critical services in support of Microsoft’s vast IT Operations. This includes Monitoring & Alerting across our infrastructure and application portfolio, Incident Management for the infrastructure and Escalation Management Services. Escalation Management provides “command and control” type services for driving resolution of issues for internal customers either impacting or impacted by MSIT, including Major Incident and Crisis Management. Our goal is to provide world class IT Operations support enabling our internal customers to execute on their business, we are striving to do this through not just executing IT Operations efficiently and effectively, but by engaging, designing and delivering different services and service levels to meet the needs of our customers.

Sr. Manager, Team Leader Technology Infrastructure & Technical Services Procurement

Redmond, Washington, Us

Asked by leadership to assess and if necessary develop a strategy for the growth in services related to Microsoft’s infrastructure. Continued growth of managed service models combined with Microsoft’s policies related to procured people drove significant growth in services spaces related to technology infrastructure. Strategies have been developed in several key areas to align procurement process, policy, and consultancy in Technology Infrastructure to business needs. In addition to business needs; corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements related to cloud offerings are driving these services spaces to be more important in Microsoft's corporate procurement profile.

Sr. Manager Procurement, Enterprise Hardware (Servers & Storage)

Redmond, Washington, Us

Led the transformation of Microsoft’s policy and infrastructure for the procurement of Server hardware enterprise wide. Upon joining Microsoft, one of the top 3 IT buyers in the World, the procurement environment was fragmented and provided little information and coordination across the many business units at Microsoft. This resulted in excess of 8,000 configurations of servers being purchased with price benchmarking consistent with a fragmented purchase profile. Working closely with the standards engineering organization in Microsoft’s On Line Services and technical leaders from other business units utilizing a “plan for the majority; manage the exceptions approach” adoption of the standards is in excess of 90% and savings from the initiative have increased over 7X.

Nov 2008 - Jun 2011

Vice President, Home Loans Sourcing Team Manager

New York, Ny, Us

Led the Home Loans Sourcing organization for Washington Mutual. As the continuing credit crisis in the US and diminishing home prices drove reductions in the overall footprint of WaMu and it’s Home Loans operations, Home Loans Sourcing has gained greater responsibilities and was expanding. This was particularly challenging in that environment as the business goals continually got more difficult to attain and equally if not more challenging was the portability of the resources achieving these goals. Sourcing professionals were and are in high demand across the country and in particular here in the Northwest with several top companies heavily recruiting. Given this, and the diminished stock price of WaMu at the time our own recruiting and retention efforts weren't effective enough. For the remainder of 2008 and for 2009 the primary focus was on meeting the business objectives of Home Loans Operations with and through the build out and retention of a talented Home Loans Sourcing organization.
