I coordinated all special projects and features. I often worked with members of the community who submitted content for feature pages, such as food, business, home and garden and others. I also edited all stories for the daily paper. Many times, I was the only editor to review an article before it went to print and was known for my attention to detail, as well as my knowledge of grammar and AP style. In this role, I also worked with reporters and members of the public in developing blogs to help make our website more dynamic. In addition to maintaining my own blog, which focused on my own life growing up in Nevada as well as other stories unique to the state, I coordinated with local bloggers to share content between our sites. Although writing stories was no longer one of my duties, I continued to do so, including two series, which went on to win several awards, including Story of the Year for Nevada.

I turned out daily stories, developed strong contacts in the community and generated long-term features. During this time, I built a foundation for writing and reporting that I have continued to build upon.
