About Greg Turner
With over 25 years in the sports industry, I've experienced a well-versed and unique career. From coaching on the collegiate level to serving as the Director of Programs for iHoops, once the official basketball youth organization for the NCAA & NBA. It's mission was to establish a structure and develop programs to improve the quality of youth basketball in America in order to enhance the athletic, educational, and social experience of the participants. Programming for youth sports, especially basketball is where my expertise and interests begin because of my desire to lead, guide and motivate youth to achieve their successes.I also had the privilege to serve as director and leader of the NCAA's Division I Men’s Basketball Mentoring Program - First Team - a national recruiting and educational program for prospective men’s basketball student-athletes. First Team focuses on the proper role of athletics in the educational process and the value of obtaining a college degree through participation in athletics. As a former division I men’s basketball player and coach, I was able to bring a wealth of experience, relationships and passion to the team, playing a pivotal role in getting the program established. I have been responsible for many aspects of the program including developing programming, participant selection, identification processes, publications and external factors that confront today's prospect in the overall recruiting process in basketball and college sports in general.Specialties: I was a television commentator for seven years, serving as the lead analyst for OVC basketball on Fox Sports Net South. I have also been an analyst for Southeastern Conference (SEC)-TV and the Missouri Valley Conference Television Network. In the 90’s I worked as a radio analyst in east Texas covering local high-school and junior college basketball.
