IRS-Assisted Vital Sign Estimation Using RadarRadar provides a contactless, privacy-preserving alternative to physical sensors for vital sign estimation, like breathing and heart rate. However, patient orientation affects accuracy, as sideways movement can escape radar detection. Intelligent Reflective Surfaces (IRS) can redirect radar signals, creating alternative paths for better visibility, even when direct detection is blocked or insufficient. Resilient Communication SystemsReconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) enable programmable wireless signal propagation, even on non-flat surfaces. A key challenge is optimizing the phase of RIS on these surfaces using experimental data. In this research, we approximate the non-plane surface and design a tailored codebook.
