I worked at best buy for a month testing caching systems for their back end order system. THis involved writing code to connect to 3rd party applications. It also included writing my own cache. All in Java.

Developed a Spring Integration project to replace an existing software product that was written using a graphical tool that is no longer supported. I used Java, Spring Integration, JMS, and JDBC Template to read a message off a queue, validate it, enrich it from a database, scrub it, and then insert it into another database. Reports were run from that database by different groups within Hennepin County.

I designed/developed an e-commerce web-based commercial humidification sizing and configuration tool using Java, Spring MVC, Hibernate, SQL Server, JSP, dojo, jQuery, and javascript. I was the only software engineer on staff.I also made suggested improvements to the product design. This tool was designed for our end customers to be able to specify their humidification system.I made a small manufacturing progress tracking single page tool for internal use by the manufacturing floor.

I simplified the setup of our call center software architecting/developing a web-based setup program using a Cisco developed tag library, Java, JavaScript, Ajax, and Struts2 while providing subject matter expertise to developers lacking this experience.I assigned tasks to engineers on team as appropriate.I directed the tag library developer to improve the library including providing examples to them.I designed/developed a web based Configuration program for a simplified call center software product using Java, JavaScript, and HTML.I designed/developed a proof of concept REST API web setup tool to setup remote systems using Java.I managed incoming defects to meet trajectories including assigning, and working with other engineers to manage due datesI managed a VMWare ESX server based test bed for a team of engineers.

I was the 3rd engineer and 8th employee at Webline. I architected/developed small-download web-based collaboration clients in a browser independent way including a caller application and a multi-session agent application using HTML, JavaScript, and java at a time before web standards were widely adopted. I also architected/developed a defect tracking system for internal use using Cold Fusion. Webline was acquired by Cisco Systems.

Tested various software applications and contributed to a novel web-based version of previously existing desktop software.
