David King is Chief of Staff to the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero's (GFANZ) technical workstreams and is a published author on climate finance and Nature-based Solutions.As Chief of Staff, David supports Curtis Ravenel, Head of the GFANZ technical teams and Senior Advisor to Mike Bloomberg, Mark Carney, and Mary Schapiro. David also co-manages GFANZ's global operations and leads research on net zero transition finance and fit-for-purpose climate scenarios. -----At COP28, the GFANZ Secretariat published a Technical Review Note on Scaling Transition Finance and Real-economy Decarbonization, a supplement to the 2022 Net-Zero Transition Plan Report. As a co-author, David wrote case studies demonstrating the application of its methodologies for catalyzing transition finance. As a follow-up to the Technical Review Note, he helped publish additional case studies from leading financial institutions, showing how they are voluntarily and independently scaling climate finance. These case studies were launched at the Global Business Forum during New York Climate Week (2024).Previously, as Funds & Vehicles Lead at Capital for Climate (C4C), David managed a global team profiling investment opportunities in Nature-based Solutions (NbS). At the request of the UN, through its Climate Champions team, this research was presented at COP26 during the world biodiversity summit. He also co-authored a landmark report on Nature Tech, unveiled at COP27, and founded C4C's acclaimed climate finance newsletter, which tracked macro trends across sectors for an audience of 3.5k+ senior investment professionals.David is a native New Yorker and can usually be found walking or biking the city.
