Dog Section

Managing 25 dog handlers across a large geographical area, I was responsible for the deployment, duty planning and resource management of these specialist officers. I was posted to this section in recognition of my ability to form and develop teams. I proactively built morale, forming motivated teams who were committed to responding to challenging environments.

I also served as an on call firearms tactical advisor, managing planned and spontaneous high threat incidents. I implemented armed responses, delivering clear and measured reactions in pressured situations. I ensured full compliance with exacting legal requirements of this tightly legislated service, delivering accurate risk assessments and implementing resolutions to fast evolving and complex live environments. I managed the delivery of response policing services, ensuring the most appropriate, fast time, reactions were delivered. I supervised highly charged environments and planned and implemented operations to combat offending, delivering well managed resources and financial budgets.

Force Support Unit

I provided visible armed policing response to both planned and spontaneous events, exercising the most considered attention whilst providing a visible deterrent and response when required. I demonstrated the ability to assess fast moving situations, contributing to a range of threat and risk events. I also worked as a football spotter, identifying high risk football supporters to reduce public order threat and mitigate the potential for violence, extreme right wing activity and organised crime.

Operational Policing

I held responsibility for the immediate reaction to critical incidents and conducted a wide range of operational activities. I exercised exceptional conflict management skills and demonstrated an ability to connect with people even in the most challenging of circumstances.
