Contract design and engineering services

*Design products for use by retail and government agencies, that meet strict PCI PED, as well as international and federal standards*Manage junior engineers and coordinate efforts between ME, EE, CS, CAD, Manufacturing, Procurement, & Marketing teams*Collaborate with customers to meet their needs for performance, cost, and schedule*Partner with suppliers and CMs to meet our needs for performance, cost, and schedule*Coordinate, manage, and analyze product testing to verify design and assembly processes*Continually strive to improve performance, reliability, DFA, & DFM, while reducing costs

*Design and modification of plastic enclosures and mechanical systems for inkjet printers, to solve reliability & manufacturing problems, and satisfy industrial design objectives*Analyze and solve mechanical issues with PCB layouts*Work with offshore suppliers to optimize tool design and parts production*Complete 2D and 3D documentation for internal and supplier use*Design mechanical parts and systems for inkjet printers and All-In-One machines *Evaluate and improve printing systems through the use of various tests, including: environmental, life, accelerated life, drop, vibration, ESD, and acoustic *Qualify and approve suppliers in the U.S., Germany, Singapore, and Taiwan*Set expectations for parts production and reliability and worked with suppliers to test and improve tools and processes*Design test stations for production line, including: physical layout of stations; determining test criteria; designing test fixtures; and writing computer code for assembly line test equipment *Design, set up, and manage large test facility for R&D lab *Work on projects from concept to introduction, including: initial overall design investigation, vendor selection, testing at all phases of production, and final documentation release *Led control panel design team, including: initial mechanical and industrial design, vendor selection and qualification, part and product testing, coordinating cross-functional team of ME, EE, CS, industrial design, marketing, and manufacturing

*Update existing programs and write new computer code for the collection and analysis of international wave data *Assist lab personnel servicing wave collection equipment in the field
