My job is to find the best educators for the students of the Seaford School District. As a former elementary, middle and high school principal, I’ve lived what my principals are dealing with, which allows me to more easily relate to their issues and collaborate on their needs.My office primarily has everything to do with personnel: recruiting, hiring, working with certification, managing employee benefits, running evaluation programs and negotiating for the district on behalf of the board. The priority is ensuring the district employs and retains a well-qualified and diverse staff that help build and maintain the district’s robust educational programs and exemplary reputation in the state.The national teacher shortage is a real concern, so we continue to work closely with area colleges and universities to find new ways to encourage more students to enter the field of education. We want these potential future educators to know that teaching can be a lifelong and rewarding career. And while it can also be a tough and demanding job, for those who are looking to make a difference in the lives of their students and community, it can be one of the most rewarding and satisfying professions.
