Took time out to move my family from the UK to Denver, undergo two surgeries for a shoulder injury (typically experienced by baseball pitchers), and enjoy nine months of paternity leave.

Hired, managed and led 16 PMs for a B2B SaaS ecommerce product used by more than 100 merchants, driving $30 million in annual revenue. Stores on the platform received 1 billion visits from shoppers and generated $2 billion of GMV (ecommerce sales) in 2021. The product enables merchants to create, manage and grow stores for web, mobile web and mobile apps.Achievements:• Built, coached and managed a successful Product Management (PM) organization. I was the first experienced PM hire and grew the team to 16 PMs ranging from Associate to Senior PM. We covered both B2C and B2B product management within the team.• Defined the product vision, strategy and principles to deliver for the pivot in business strategy to sell the product B2B. More than 100 enterprise merchants signed up within two years.• Designed, implemented and iterated tools and processes to help scale and move from a tactical roadmap to a one-year roadmap. This included: implementing a product teams structure; a product requirements document template; stakeholder management and roadmapping processes; fortnightly product update presentations; and new product release announcements to all merchants.

• Led Customer Experience (front-end) product team to launch an email marketing modal that delivered a 400% increase in marketing signups and a $3 million/year increase in revenue. A/B tested to measure impact and iterate.• Launched functionality to allow product video content which enabled contracts with new merchants, one of which was a major fashion group worth more than $1 million in annual sales.• Led development of cookie consent banner that minimized revenue impact for our merchants and mitigated the risk of Google terminating our Google Ads integration. Prevented loss of $2 million in revenue/year by iterative A/B tests.

Fourth employee at this climate tech startup funded by one of the Google founding team. Our mission was to provide electricity services to the 1 billion people who live “off-grid” using solar-powered microgrids and electrical products.• Defined and executed the strategy: raise money for a demonstration project, execute the project, and try to find product-market fit.• Raised $800,000 in funding; grew customer base from 50 to 1,400; increased monthly ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) by 40% from $2.50 to $3.50.• Reduced customer payment time by 80% and operating costs by 33% through API integrations with mobile networks, which allowed customers to pay using mobile money and instantly top-up their electricity accounts.• Improved customer experience through a new pricing structure which increased Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) by 20% and drove customer growth. Reviewed data and customer feedback to identify problems with existing pricing, then collaborated with sales, customer service and engineering to define, test and implement a solution.• Scaled the operations in Rwanda, hiring 25 staff across management, engineering and customer service in a year.
