I hold responsibility for the coordination and project management of security and policing operations within the City of London. This role requires exceptional management of diverse and demanding business areas, understanding both drivers and specific requirements of each discipline. Within this challenging and high pressure role, I consistently deliver exceptional service, responding to demanding deadlines and rapidly evolving operational requirements. I successfully manage vast amounts of data, creating operational documents to inform and apply best practice and secure organisational learning. I provide a robust response to the increased national critical threat level, utilising exceptional communication and influencing skills to ensure the delivery of the highest levels of security management. I work in effective partnership with key internal branches and external individuals and organisations including the Corporation of London, Transport for London, the Royal Household, governmental departments, embassies and the UK Security Services. This is a highly demanding role with multiple requirements, from the detailed planning of complex events to managing the development of staff and securing organisational learning to best inform and serve future event planning. I participate and develop event testing through live training exercises and table top exercises; utilising my depth of event management expertise to test stakeholder plans and decision making.

I was selected to work as a specialist dog handler, training and developing a police dog. This was a 24-hour responsibility role, requiring continuous training and commitment. During this time, I worked in a variety of roles:Explosives Search Dog Handler and Instructor - I led handlers and their dogs from selection through an advanced, highly demanding, training programme to develop the skills required to perform in a range of exceptionally high risk environments. I provided training in a wide variety of tactics to best assist firearms teams and oversee the safe handling and storage of training equipment including explosives, firearms and drugs. I drove the development of effective interpersonal skills of handlers; supporting the need to robustly advise and direct on their findings in a concise and coherent manner in intensely pressurised environments; often asserting their knowledge to more senior officers. Crime Scene Management - Following firearms, suspect packages and bomb threat activity, I was deployed as a specialist first responder. I conducted dynamic risk assessments, instigating cordons and driving appropriate initial responses. Search Dog Licensing - I was tasked to provide assessments for other UK police services to ensure compliance with stringent performance requirements to retain licensing, for both dog and handler.General Purpose Dog handler - I worked independently, responding to needs across a wide geographical area, and was successful in identifying offenders and evidence to secure convictions. I worked in an operational environment providing support in confrontational public order situations from street disorder, demonstrations and sporting events. I delivered a calm and highly professional response to positively contribute to the quick resolution of disorder and critical incidents.

Operational Policing

Like all police officers, I began my service as a constable, moving through a wide foundation of training and development. I worked in a broad range of roles including as part of a response team, tasked with the immediate management of critical incidents and operational activities. This required a thoughtful and considered approach, often under pressure of time and tight budgetary constraints. I brought an assured leadership approach, demonstrating an ability to manage a diversity of issues, to influence widely and to process information quickly and accurately.
