Responsible for the managment of the security staff and operations across a new estate of 67 Acres. This includes its buildings, access ways and public realm. Leading a team of over 100 staff and managers. Working closely with emergency services, tenants and visitors to provide a safe and secure enviroment for visitors, residents and visitors to this 24/7 estate.

Central North Command Unit - London

I hold a budget of £50m and lead a team of over 1,100 staff, tasked with the delivery of operational policing services across multiple sites and diverse specialisms. I drive numerous multi-agency operations and critical incidents and support nationwide programmes, including counter terrorism and extensive operational planning. I have led a significant merger of policing provision across Camden and Islington, identifying areas of risk and strength to develop resilience and effectiveness across six locations. I influenced positively to counter internal resistance to change, managing the challenges of reduced resourcing and increased demand. I have maintained strong service delivery through proactive reviews, clear prioritisation and best use of resources. As a nationally accredited security coordinator, I provide high level security recommendations for major events. I hold exceptional experience and knowledge of risk reduction and mitigation and demonstrate the ability to manage significant risk. I have led security at over 200 large events, including ceremonial and sporting events and demonstrations. I serve as the London lead for post incident management; proactively influencing policy at a national level. I lead and coordinate a cadre of officers overseeing development, multiagency response and armed policing; continuously securing learning to improve and develop post incident management.

Operational Policing - London

I held senior responsibility for the direction and delivery of policing response across a busy and diverse London borough. This included responding to over 600 incidents a day and the investigation of 25K crime per year. I drove business continuity and emergency preparedness and led forums and task groups to ensure resilience and effective multi-agency response to national initiatives. This role encompassed numerous responsibilities including leading neighbourhood policing operational command, health and safety, policy review, audit and delivery. I held overview of physical security risk assessment and management, ensuring full threat intelligence, business and operational management and intervention was resilient. I led on event security, advising on strategy, tactics, legal framework and liabilities and served as the territorial policing lead for licensing enforcement. Within this latter role, I led a robust response to risk; closing a popular and busy nightclub after six drug related deaths, withstanding political and media pressure, to secure increased public safety and uphold all lawful requirements.

Managing a staff of 600, I oversaw the policing response to emergencies, incident management and a broad range of investigations. During this time, I worked in two demanding boroughs, responsible for ensuring exceptional professional standards, adherence to full legal compliance and proactive partnership working with key partners. I led on counter terrorism provision; delivering protective advice and preparedness and chairing Prevent panel. I oversaw the compliance with all custody procedures, with cognisance of all legal and moral demands, including the reception, detention, release and overall care of individuals brought into police custody. Additionally, as a member of the Local Government Association peer review team, I travelled nationally to advise on operational, neighbourhood and partnership best practice.

I began my service as a constable, developing a strong foundation of enquiry, observation and personal interaction, delivering exceptional results in a wide range of roles, affording me depth and expertise to progress to senior management and leadership. I excelled in both strategic and developmental environments and demonstrated particular success in developing partnership working across diverse communities. I undertook a variety of operational roles, including providing immediate response to critical incidents and for the management of a wide range of operational activities. I brought a thoughtful and considered approach to my work, processing information quickly and accurately. I worked within a neighbourhood setting in a busy and diverse area managing local concerns and investigating crime. The need for the most personable approach with diplomacy and a real interest in local issues that effected residents was essential. I continually demonstrated exceptional conflict management and an ability to connect meaningfully with people even in the most challenging of circumstances. Over this time, I was seconded to a range of units, working in exceptionally challenging operational environments, within some of the most demanding areas of London. I brought a calm and thoughtful approach in dealing with often heightened and potentially dangerous situations, including civil unrest and large public order events. I also led surveillance operations using a variety of techniques, counter terrorism and specialist investigations.
