I am good at two things:1) Create a "Customer & Innovation" led product vision and roadmap that drives rapid user adoption and business growth2) Build and motivate world class engineering and product teams (1 to 150+ people, global locations) and execute on that vision and roadmap, deliver impact, and scale well.Highlights of Systems and Products that I helped to build and drove the growth of multi-billion dollar businesses: * Data I/O at FB - 330PB data/day, mission critical to FB's $86B+ business in 2021, * Amazon Business (Guided Buying, Spend Visibility, APIs) - 2.5M+ customers, $10B in 2018, $25B+ in 2021, * AWS QuickSight (concept to launch) - 100K+ businesses in 2018, * Amazon RDS except Aurora (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle ) - $1B+ ARR in 2017 * Postini (Google) - 20M+ business users in 2009, * Ariba (SAP) - E-commerce volume $800B in 2006, $3T in 2021 as per SAP press releaseRecent examples of Teams and Orgs I led that delivered impact and performed well at scale: * Data I/O - 100+ team of SWEs, SDMs, PEs, PMs, TPMs at BEL, MPK and LON * Amazon Business - 150+ team of SWEs, SDMs, Data Engg and PMs at BEL, AUS, MAD, and HYD * Amazon RDS - 80+ team of SWEs, SDMs, SREs and PMs at SEA, YVR, and PAO.I have attracted, developed, promoted, and supported engineers and PMs who obsessed over customer delight, rapid innovation, architectural simplicity, reliability and efficiency at scale. As a team, we delivered delightful experiences and operated mission critical, "invisible" infrastructure services/systems at scale that powered high growth businesses. If you are a start-up or a large company with hyper growth aspirations and challenges in building platforms for cloud services, data management, privacy, and B2B commerce, let's talk; I may be able to help.Skills: Cloud computing, Distributed systems, Data infrastructure, Micro/Web Services, Privacy and Security, Cloud-scale Databases, Software defined infrastructure, Mobile and Voice enabled apps, Software as a Service (SaaS), B2B apps, Repetitive process automation, Global team building and leadership, Spend management, Strategic Sourcing, SQL databases, OLAP, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Engineering Management, Product vision, Agile methodologies, Org Design, Global Hiring, Cross-functional Partnerships

Executive Vice PresidentOlive Dec 2021 - Apr 2022Columbus, Oh, UsHealthcare has always remained as an industry plagued with the ailment of system silos and islands of data. OliveAI articulated a brilliant vision - what if one software company could create the internet of healthcare? After leaving Facebook, learning about the complex data management challenges of healthcare and improving it felt right. Could Olive AI be the elixir that cures the ailment? I was intrigued. I joined the journey to lead a group of very talented engineers, architects, and product managers. We embarked on an ambitious journey to build such a platform from the bottom up. And, we created the nucleus of that platform in one short month and were iterating fast. Our NorthStar was to connect the Healthcare islands with an automation platform that used standard data formats, data exchange protocols, baked in security and privacy rules, event oriented architecture, and a robotic process automation engine. I learned an important lesson through this creative process. Learning about any large healthcare institution meant only one thing. I have learned about ONE healthcare institution. Each healthcare institution demanded way too many exceptions and customizations. No one product scenario showed the product-market fit that could scale. Engineers were being guided to make each exception as a feature, not build exceptional customer experiences. That was bothersome. Olive AI also had several products that were all looking for product-market fit resulting in diffusion. My skillsets of focusing on very few problems, building strong teams that delivered innovative products, and evolving those into scalable platforms would not be put to good use. I realized I was not the best fit for Olive AI and left in May 2022. -

Director, ProductsSap Ariba Dec 1998 - Mar 2002Waldorf, De* First, founding product owner for the start-up. Defined the product vision, direction, roadmap, release plans, priorities and launch training and timing. Wore many hats from building mocks in the morning to reviewing engineering designs in the afternoon to being part of a large customer sales cycle in the evening. With founders mindset, obsessed over product success, revenue growth, engineering plans, customer adoption and satisfaction and made product plan adjustments quickly. Many traits I acquired as part of this journey in terms of customer obsession, earning customer trust, demonstrating ownership, insisting on high standards, working with and supporting engineers to invent and simplify on behalf of the customer, showing high bias for action as speed matters in business, being prepared to pivot as part of being right a lot, hiring and developing the best - they all serve me very well today. Later, I learned those at a much deeper level as Amazon leadership principles. * $400M exit with Ariba's aquisition. Assumed Marketplace product ownership after Ariba acquisition. Grew the PM team to 10+ PMs over 18 months. Served many “first movers in the industry” customers including PlasticsNet, E2Open, Covisint, ChemNet with shared vision on products. -
