At the end of 2006 there where well over 373,000 loan officers in the US (source US Labor and Statistics), today 65 – 70% of them are gone. Of the remaining, less than half utilize analysis tools and watch technical data to offer solid advice based strategy to their clients. Since my time as a home finance professional I have witnessed several people try to break into this industry and do nothing but leave a wake of destruction behind. Concentrating on telling people what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear because they are only concerned with their commission. These people do not take the time to develop fiscal education or utilize tools that help their client come to an educated advice based decision. While I am not the world’s gift to the lending industry, I am tired of being lumped in with these people. I entered into this business to make an honest living, making myself fiscally literate while building a career, and to become a reliable source for mortgage and financial information. My goal is to build a long term relationship with each and every client by continually providing information, explanation, and professional management of their mortgage. By utilizing analysis tools and staying on top of technical data, I am able to offer a solid advice based strategy to my clients and referral partners. This ability has allowed these clients keep their homes while so many others are hurting. I take pride in sitting down with every client one on one to explore their overall financial structure, and offering the best options available to help them achieve their goals.
