Sumit is an accomplished executive for VC and PE-backed companies with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, driving organizational growth and profitability. He has over a decade of experience managing financial, operational, legal, and HR functions from early-stage to post-IPO companies. Sumit is currently an Operating Partner at Brass Ring Ventures where he draws on his experience on both sides of the table as an investor and operator. He works closely with founders and executive teams to align and execute their financial and business goals with a strategic lens into their long-term vision. Sumit also sits on the firm’s investment committee. Before joining BRV Sumit was most recently the Senior Director of Business Transformation at PowerSchool (Nasdaq: PWSC and PE backed by Onyx and Vista Equity Partners company), where he worked on enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives for the C-Suite after joining the company through an acquisition. Prior to PowerSchool, he served as the SVP of Finance and Operations at Kinvolved, a VC-backed SaaS company where he oversaw finance, operations, legal, investor relations, and HR functions and successfully led the negotiation of the sale of the company to PowerSchool. Prior he worked at Ensota, a high-growth data analytics company where he led all global M&A activities and the company’s expansion into the European market. Sumit started his career at Interplay Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm and venture studio where he worked to invest and launch over two dozen companies that have gone on to create billions in value. Sumit holds a J.D. with accelerated graduation from Hofstra Law School and a B.S. from St. John’s University. In Sumit’s spare time, he sits on the board of the Next Generation Leaders Foundation and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
