It’s a long way from Bourges, France – where Jérôme Fosset was born and raised – to Birmingham, Mich., where he now serves as The Townsend Hotel’s Food and beverage director. The journey has served Fosset and his career well, allowing for stops along the way to collect valuable luxury hospitality experience in major U.S. cities like Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New York, Denver and Portland, Ore.In his role as Food and beverage director, Fosset is responsible for operational support of The Townsend’s Rugby Grille, extensive Banquet space, In Room Dining as well as the Townsend Bakery. A mixology enthusiast, Fosset, who joined The Townsend team in February 2015, assists in the ongoing evolution of the luxury property’s cocktail menu, bringing his worldly experiences to help keep the beverage offerings among the area’s best. Of his work in the hospitality industry, Fosset explains, “I love to identify opportunities – not challenges – and then work to implement a unique solution. Change is never easy, but evolution brings new energy and new chances for true excellence in both product and service.”Despite the occasional late hours the profession demands, Fosset is a family man first and foremost. He resides in Birmingham, Mich. with his wife, daughter, step-daughter and two, “loving, but not so sharp” black cats.
