Currently, working as part of a small team responsible for product’s system performances in the fields of Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, and Electrical Power management. Required to set and control pressure budgets so that thermofluids system requirements are met. Using a mixture of simulations, calculations, tests, and engineering judgement to solve problems that arise as we develop out technologies and products. Working from early stage of a project, taking responsibility of development when the technologies leave the research stage, developing them to a feasible solution, and then supporting our SEA counterparts to take them through the production. Task:· Identify and manage product/sub-assembly/part level challenges associated with system performances and resolve them successfully.· Create and maintain system performance table to govern pressure and power budgets, ensuring all related teams work based on the given budgets.· Conduct experiments or other relevant analysis methods and tools to develop and validate our understanding and solutions.· Identify risk and keep all stakeholders up to date on progress and status of allocated projects.· Confidently and clearly present and articulate ideas to audience in both written and verbal communications.· Drive data analysis, ensure robust test methodology and conclusive proposals for timely delivery of solutions and verification report using basic competency in MATLAB, Minitab, Excel and/or Python.· Ensure production testers are build robust with correct specifications are set.

Pick Up Performance Intern Engineer

I was placed in the product performance team, working specifically on improving product performance. For this product, there is one performance parameter that is really concerning and needs to be improved which is floor wetness. For this project, I used the approach of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) for my design improvement. These are my job scopes throughout this three-month internship as a Pickup Performance Intern Engineer:1. Analysis and EvaluationThe process starts with an analysis of the product's performance, specifically regarding floor wetness. Performance data is collected and user feedback is gathered to understand the issues and their impact on customers.2. Problem IdentificationPerformance gaps are defined, and the gap between the desired and actual product performance is determined using process capability analysis. Visual inspection with specialized cameras is used to identify the root causes of performance issues related to floor wetness.3. Brainstorming Brainstorming sessions are conducted, involving collaboration with engineering experts. The goal is to generate ideas and solutions for improving product performance. Technical knowledge, such as dynamic movement and material selection, is used to come up with solutions.4. PrototypingThis phase focuse on mechanical design feature optimization. Numerous prototypes are created through hands-on modifications. The use of tooling machines, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and sample repeatability are part of this phase.5. Design OptimizationThe focus shifts to balancing performance across various parameters, including wet and dry debris, stain removal, and current draw. The final prototype is optimized for dimensions, materials, and design to ensure that all performance parameters are maintained.6. Verification and ValidationUnderstanding test methods used by Dyson is crucial for conducting testing independently. Collaboration with test development engineers helps for accurate data.

This is my first experience working in an engineering company. I was placed in a new subsidiary company for UMW. This company manufacture membrane housing filter for the Water Reclamation Plant for the industry. It was never easy working in a start-up company. The expectation is very high in terms of hands-on skills, critical thinking to come up with the new processes and the design structure. However, throughout the 3 month period, I have learned a lot from all the Managers and Engineers there. They guided me step-by-step on how to make things done under pressure. I personally love working under pressure. Thus, this is a great platform for me to evolve my career growth. During my internship period, I was privileged enough to handle the first project of the company. There are a lot of up and down during the period but we as a team manage to deliver our product even though with a slight delay at the end. Overall, it is an amazing experience working in start-ups as I got to learn and contribute more to the company. It marks a very good start for my engineering career.Job scope:1. Gained a lot of knowledge about starting up a new business and project management.2. Applied the Development Cycle (proof of concept, ELT, PLT, mass production) for new product development.3. Assisted a team on designing full assembly component(using Solid works) for KYB 8’ UF membrane Water Reclamation Plant4. Designed and started up with a working prototype for UF Hijrah Domestic Water Filter.5. Reviewed FMEAs and line trial review for all process to create control plans which intended to increase product quality.6. Created a new Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for process in membrane modulation.7. Assisted an engineering team through a process improvement project to improve traceability and to fulfill customers’ need.8. Improvised and set up a new production daily reports to keep track efficiency (availability, production, defect)
