Perform System Engineering and Software Testing of network related software in an Agile environment. Write Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, user documentation and requirements. Fixed duration contract, then hired permanent at Teradata, certifying tape libraries, tape encryption servers and disk backup systems including Data Domain appliances and Quantum tape libraries. This required configuring the network and hardware, then writing, creating and executing manual test suites, as well as, automated test suites using shell scripting or C.* Ran backup performance certification tests using various hardware configurations to determine the amount of time needed to backup or restore a large data set with a Teradata database using the in-house written backup software and NetBackup. Configured, tuned and performed troubleshooting of the network and hardware for each test. Analyzed the results to determine bottlenecks and areas for improvement.* Performed SAN and hardware installation, configuration and troubleshooting in support of the certification and QA testing. This included firmware upgrades on switches and storage devices. Installed and configured Fibre Channel, InfiniBand and 10 GbE networks for optimum performance. Verified encryption over the wire.* Verified software quality on in-house written n-tier backup solutions, DSA and ARC, that interfaces with NetBackup in an n-tier environment. The development environment was Agile. Designed and ran tests that included security protocols like SSL, HTTPS and Bitlocker.* Used change management and defect tracking software: Team City, Subversion and JIRA.

Contracted at Quantum ensuring quality assurance on the DXi Disk Backup System.* Ran manual test suites verifying the functionality of the DXi software on various platforms.* Installed and debugged issues with the DXi software on Linux and with NetBackup and Backup Exec on Windows and Linux.* Performed SAN, hardware and firmware installation, configuration and troubleshooting as necessary.

Fixed duration contract at Hewlett-Packard until 10/08, then converted to a permanent HP employee, testing the Integrated Lights Out 2 & 3 management processors on Proliant servers.* Ran manual and automated test suites exercising all the functionality of the iLO 2 processor, including Remote Console, Virtual Media, GUI functionality, CLI functionality, Insight Manager interaction and Power Capping.* Installed and debugged issues with Windows and Linux OS’s, drivers, ROM’s and firmwares as needed for testing.* Wrote test tools, in C, and test cases to test newly incorporated features. * Worked with HP hardware and firmware developers to help isolate issues and verify fixes.

Fixed duration contract at Dell Computer Corporation testing the 8th generation of PowerEdge enterprise servers.* Testing included all aspects of hardware, BIOS, operating system and driver interaction.* Installed, configured and performed troubleshooting of Rack mount servers, Blade servers, RAID controllers, storage enclosures, networking devices, drivers and operating systems including Windows Server 2000 & 2003, Red Hat Advanced Server 2 & 3 and NetWare 6.5.

Fixed duration contract with Compaq Computer Corp. testing enterprise level RAID controllers on Proliant servers.* Installed, configured and performed troubleshooting of RAID controllers, servers, storage enclosures, drivers and operating systems including Windows 2000, NT 4, Red Hat 7.1, SUSE 8, Caldera 3.1 and NetWare 5.
