The West Gate Tunnel Project comprises various works including an upgrade of the West Gate Freeway and the construction of a new road and tunnel connecting the West Gate Freeway with the Port of Melbourne, CityLink and the CBD.The upgraded West Gate Freeway and new road and tunnel, including the new CBD connections, will form the ongoing Western Distributor. The Western Distributor will also include construction of a new city bypass between Dynon Road and Flinders Street, incorporating a widening of Wurundjeri Way.The work sites for the new tunnels Southern Outbound Portals are located:Southern Outbound Tunnel Portal site located adjacent to the west bound lanes of the West Gate Freeway, just west of the Newport Rail Line and accessed via Kyle Road, Altona North, that will become the western exit for the Outbound tunnelThe Works includes the construction of South Portal Outbound Permanent Walls, Stitches, deck Overlay and block works between CH50850 – 50900 (North & South Walls) various width from 800mm to 1500mm thick walls up to 25m height.

Project: Underground Gold Line Metro Doha Client: Qatar Rail Consultant: Atkins Designation: Project Engineer The project include construction of a 23Km long underground tunnel with a diameter of 6.17 meter, as well as 10 underground stations (Top to down Method) with high-end architectural finishes, high technology automations, complex smoke exhaust system in case of fire in the stations, and state of the art MEP system. In addition, the project involved the construction of an underground depot with a total length of 650M and central cooling plant for three of the stations. The implementation of the extremely complex and demanding construction in the heart of Qatar capital required the simultaneous utilization of 6 tunnel boring machine (TBM).Tunnel boring machine was carried out on Karst limestone with voids or cavities, an advanced technology tracking system (BEAM) was applied on the TBMs’cutter head. The projects involved 108892 precast concrete elements for the lining of the tunnels, the excavation of 4.9 Million M3 at the stations, the incorporation of 1 Million M3 concrete, 171403 Tons of steel reinforcement as well as the large number of traffic detours and shift of existing live utilities network

From this 38ha is identified for warehousing, roads and infrastructure. The scope of works are all dry utilities, wet utilities, roads, and substations.

In addition, constructions of 370m long 31.25m wide Marina Bridge crossing over Dubai Marina Canal. Bridge consists of six spans with five piers and two abutments. Bridge deck consists of six cell webs are post tensioned with 10 ducts and 37 strands. The web height varies from 2.5m to 5m.
