About Bryan Mckinnon
I have worked over 20 years in the environmental field, holding positions in the private and public sectors. As such, I have a unique understanding of the environmental regulatory landscape. In recent years, I developed policy and regulatory infrastructure to support efforts ranging from secure medicine return to public utilities compliance and stormwater pollution prevention. Much of the follow-through with this work had me routinely meeting with local businesses and the public. Here, I found success in effecting behavioral changes through non-enforcement methodologies. I streamlined the processes which enabled my successes. I've been responsible for program development. In an effort to streamline and improve systems across a broad range of private and government entities, I have presented and shared the tools and methods for the successes with my affiliated programs. Prior, I was a key player on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) from 2001 through 2012, supporting projects in EPA Regions 4, 5, 6, and 10. My work as a START was often time critical in nature and in the public eye. This further deepened my skills with contract and personnel management. These skills ideally suit the needs of a multi-discipline organization in areas including: environmental regulatory and compliance; environmental assessment; environmental clean-up and emergency response; redevelopment and remediation; policy development and implementation, education and outreach, program development, and the management of tasks required by complex projects. My professional interests are diversified and include sustainability and green development. Over one year experience working with the premier modular green roof system, GreenGrid. Performed profit and loss analyses; client consultation; business development; and oversaw installation of the product including procurement of labor and supplies. A Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) per the U.S. Green Building Council as well as being nominated to the Port Orchard Design Review Board for two terms.
Listed skills include Cercla, Hazwoper, Rcra, Epa, and 46 others.
