I am a systems thinker who enjoys helping groups work through complex problems and opportunities. I strive to work my way out of jobs, leaving organizations with greater capability, capacity and resilience. My work also includes course design and facilitation and thesis supervision in several Royal Roads graduate programs. I believe that engaging people in different forms of dialogue and deliberation is much more powerful than doing presentations. My work is frequently inspired by principles and examples from natural systems. In the Western World, I think many of our growing challenges stem from disconnection with nature.Specialties: Knowledge management, leadership development--especially for complex work, qualitative research to help group better understand key issues, communities of practice, park and environmental management, organizational culture, organizational development, and application of complexity thinking and natural systems principles to organizations.
