Have you ever had a complete stranger strike up a conversation with you? That’s exactly what I do. I’m a gregarious Australian with an urge to understand people, so I open my mouth, say “Hello” and whether someone’s dressed in pinstripes or a hard hat, I make a connection instantly. (In the case of a guy I chatted to at a beer festival in Germany, it even led to marriage!)That ability to ask questions helps me a lot in my job. I go into a business and as soon as people start talking I ‘get’ what’s going on, seeing through corporate culture to what’s happening on the ground. Then I snap into solutions mode and get things moving…quickly! Not a second of time or penny of budget is wasted and the best compliment my bid team clients give me is, “we knew what we were doing and even curve balls didn't derail us" - combined we have helped clients win over £1bn worth of work.If there’s a common thread to what I do, it would be ‘making business better’: my clients quickly see improvements to staff engagement & business preformance whether they’re in consulting, construction or small businesses, and I help my clients make their employees’ lives better, delivering their company brand through their people. Wherever I am I’m happy living in the moment; I might have left wall-to-wall sunshine on my family’s sheep farm in South Australia for the wetter climes of Ireland, but contrary to what people expect, I love the rain (and it does wonders for my vegetable garden!)
