Current and Recent Projects Include: State of Oregon – Supporting the planning and the implementation by Governor Kotek in her Executive Order declaring a state of emergency on housing and homelessness. Working directly with all identified emergency order regions, including Tribal Nations, to meet the emergency housing goals while addressing racial disparities in access and outcomes.State of California - Facilitating, supporting and providing training to the CA Inter-Agency Council on Homelessness Racial Equity Work Group. Focused on strengthening racial equity-focused activities of State agencies while assessing and equipping them with racial justice strategies in funding, access, housing interventions, services, and outcomes for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and historically excluded populations.The Obama Presidential Center - Supporting efforts to meet the vision for the OPC to be a national model for community engagement. Creating a place of collaboration for local residents, and a place for community organizations, museums and educational institutions alike to explore new ideas, engage new audiences, create jobs, and economic opportunities, and showcase the vibrant culture of the South Side to the rest of the world.National Coalition for the Homeless - Racial Equity & Housing Policy Advisor; Identifying & analyzing action on federal policy and regulatory activities related to the Coalition’s mission and priorities.HUD Technical Assistance - In response to COVID-19, supporting the State of California, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Tribal Nations, and local communities to quickly rehouse individuals and families experiencing homelessness while centering on racial equity.Homelessness and Emergency Response System Assessment, and Strategic Planning - City of Revere (MA), New Castle County (DE), Los Angeles Housing and Services Agency, Maui County (HI), Nashville (TN) and several other local governments.

In June 2016, when the Pulse gay nightclub mass shooting tragedy occurred, I was tasked to map out the City of Orlando’s long-term support for the survivors and victims’ families. Through that effort a long-term commitment for a resiliency center was created, known as the Orlando United Assistance Center. This Center implements a system that provides an array of services and partnerships that nurture hope, strength, and health to all those impacted by the mass tragedy - with special focus on the LGBTQ, Latinx , communities of color and other marginalized communities.I led and managed the relationship with the Department of Justice’s Office of Victims of Crime, to apply and secure funding from the Anti-terrorism Emergency Assistance grant, which provides over $8 million for long-term support services to those impacted by the Pulse tragedy.I also have the unique and ambitious opportunity to support Mayor Dyer's and the City of Orlando's goals of implementing "Housing First". Housing First is a homeless assistance approach that prioritizes providing people experiencing homelessness with permanent housing as quickly as possible, thus ending their homelessness and serving a platform from which they can pursue personal goals and improve their quality of life – and then surrounds them with needed supportive services including mental health counseling, treatment for addiction, basic medical care and the skills to manage their home.

Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida is the primary provider of legal services to citizens in central Florida, regardless of their ability to pay. With my deep experience in organizational development and employee training, I played a significant role in supporting the organization to build it's capital of human resources and alignment of staff structuring.As a self-starter who has the ambition, creativity, and drive to shape an effective development program and communications strategy, I was driven by results for the necessary support of legal aid in Central Florida:*I led and supervised the development and communications team to ensure the coordination of tasks, projects and the management of the development and communications calendar.*Managed fundraising initiatives so that they are targeted and consistent with organizational objectives. *Managed communications staff to ensure that external messaging is aligned across all development and communications initiatives.*Oversaw internal operating procedures pertaining to development and ensure that they are integrated, clear, well designed and utilized.*Planned and implemented appropriate communication strategies that increase institutional visibility, *Played a role in the senior leadership team in aligning values to mission, building staff cohesion, and strategic planning and priority setting.*Led efforts in organizational development and staff alignment towards the organization’s goals.

Supported the design and implementation to achieve greater housing cost efficiency and sustainability, worked to create the conditions necessary for Haitians to obtain improved housing and secure settlements solutions themselves:-Improve the conditions of existing low-income neighborhoods through better urban planning and targeted infrastructure investments.-Leverage low-income households’ ability to construct their own homes. Done by connecting them to more affordable housing finance or to land with water, sanitation and/or electricity infrastructure, where they can build incrementally over time.-Help the private sector, such as financing institutions and housing developers, play a greater role in housing construction.-Strengthen local and national government institutions responsible for this sector.Manage implementation schedules, human resource planning and financial monitoring for hosting President Carter and Roslynn Work Project for two years. Major event designing and engagement with President Martelly (Haiti) and other high profile global dignitaries.Served as the subject matter expert for Habitat’s Haiti disaster recovery efforts by educating resource development sales force, donors, partners and external stakeholders by creating tools, communications collateral and donor-specific proposals; including for Clinton Global Initiative, The World Bank, USAID and other institutional donors.Management and regular update of the detailed implementation, cash flow, monitoring, communication plans and other project management tools to senior leadership and institutional partners.

Formulated, implemented, and maintained infrastructure for the development, administration, management, of government relations to support the organizational goals of Habitat for Humanity in Florida, with the state legislature and at the federal level.Develop, implement, and maintain effective communication networks to membership as well as with coalitions and state organizations. Led and managed a member association of affiliates across the state to act collectively and cohesively to advocate for critical affordable housing priorities, locally, statewide and federally.Successfully explored, developed and cultivated valuable partnerships between the organization and key stakeholders throughout the country. Resulting in the significant increase and securing of funds and resources for the association.In a rapidly changing socioeconomic climate, aided the board of directors in identifying assumed constraints then encouraged them to challenge those assumed constraints. Through this successful process, the organization developed strategies for potential new sources of funding and partnerships.
