Cool isn’t consistent. For technology to make a real difference it has to have adoption and implementation. To that I have the best job at the best company!! I get to wake up everyday and learn about new technology (hardware & software) while using what we presently know to attack and prevent incidents in regard to Worker Health, Safety and Security. Safety isn’t a nice to have or a competitive advantage. It is the humanity barometer for a business. No more reports with mountain ranges, playgrounds and general statistics. We have entered a new arena of what is possible thanks to technology and need to step into it.We are industry and technology agnostic but work extremely hard to make sure we have amazing relationships with the companies whose products and services we use to ensure the optimum adoption, implementation and impact for our customers. We see all of them as partners as we are in this together. This all starts with our amazing CEO Kelly Ireland who talks the walk. I’m a very active member of the Cup of Joe_Y Coffee Happy Hour every Friday at The Ion in Downtown Houston. It’s the epicenter of start ups, entrepreneurs, season business professionals and the like who are focused on technology, innovation, transition and human connection. My personal Y is to seek wisdom for the sake of transformation.My professional Y is to have someone walk up to me one day and say that they or a loved one avoided injury or death as a result of the services we provide at CBT.In addition to my role at CBT I also work on the side in media, primarily through podcasts, where I professionally podcast for the Oil & Gas Global Network and am also contributing to the 7th Ward Podcast which is a volunteer based show focused on connecting all the things going on in Houston Tech to the world based on the people and conversation happening at the Cup of Joe_Y coffee happy hour each Friday morning in Downtown Houston. I also contribute to conferences, webinars and similar endeavors as a speaker, panelist, and moderator. Life is a team sport and we are better together. More than willing to connect and network with anyone who reaches out in earnest. Knowledge and wisdom are incredibly valuable but a warm and personal connection has unparalleled value.
