Talonda S. Rogers is a nurse consultant, speaker, best-selling author, and nurse educator. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Before entering the healthcare field, she received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, also from West Chester University.Talonda currently works for the same program where she started her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) back in 2007. She is the founder and CEO of The 4th Trimester MOMMIE, a non-profit organization dedicated to maternal care and advocacy. The 4th Trimester MOMMIE's mission is to reduce maternal death by providing inclusive healthcare to all women during and after pregnancy. The organization's services, known as MOM CARE, include advocacy, counseling, and education for pregnant, postpartum, and women affected by pregnancy or infant loss. The nonprofit specializes in the postpartum period and emphasizes healing for the mind, body, and spirit - the whole person.Talonda's deep desire to make a difference in the high maternal mortality rate in the United States stems from her personal experience of losing her firstborn child. Statistics show that many of these deaths are preventable and that women of color are disproportionately affected, often due to a lack of being listened to. Talonda's signature speech, "L.I.S.T.E.N.," has been an eye-opener for medical professionals, nurse educators, and healthcare students across Pennsylvania. In addition to her work with The 4th Trimester MOMMIE, Talonda is the founder and leader of LOVED (Ladies of Value, Encouragement & Determination), a women's group that supports and uplifts women's issues in her community across several states, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, and Texas. Talonda often emphasizes the sentiment, "There is more that unites us than divides us."When not focused on "all things nursing" or growing her women's group, Talonda enjoys spending quiet time with her family.
