Founder and CEO of $₱€NCE capital (SC). SC is primarily an Angel investor from ₱5M to ₱50M per transaction but also provides working capital to portfolio companies. Focus on pre-revenue startups through to early post-revenue stage companies in businesses with a 1) first mover advantage or clear competitive advantage that can quickly be strengthened, 2) a scalable business model, and 3) a motivated and adaptable management team. $₱€NCE capital currently has seven investments across four countries - Australia, the Philippines, Singapore and the US - and seven sectors - esports gaming platforms, wine importing and distribution, additive metal manufacturing for offshore applications, IT equipment financing, engineering services, early childhood education and real time KPI software development and applications.Simultaneous with his $₱€NCE capital work, Michael is a Director at Partners In Performance. PIP is a 600-person consultancy started in ANZ in 1996 focused on turning around under performing companies, helping CEOs with major restructurings and helping clients better execute major capital projects. After working with PIP ANZ from 2009-13, Michael started the SEA business and grew it from zero clients, revenues and people in 2013 to $15M revenues, ~25 people including two other partners serving 30+ clients in 2018. After his election by his colleagues in March 2018 to PIP's governing committee, the RDG-IDG, he handed over the Managing Partner SEA role but remains active with clients in SEA.Michael brings 32 years helping businesses deliver better bottom line performance through operational improvement and coaching CEOs on setting business priorities and how best to lead their organizations. While he has focused on SEA since 2004, in his 12 years as a line manager and 20 years as a consultant, he has worked in 45 countries across North America, Europe and Asia starting up new plants, turning around underperforming businesses and restructuring organizations.
