As a Community Navigator, my service is dedicated to connecting with the underserved population of Las Vegas and giving them resources that they need. By being culturally competent, having strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of what resources are available I excel at my position. Consistently connecting with residents of the valley has allowed me to exercise my organizational skills, effective problem solving, and my whimsical communication skills. Inquiring with the population to identify barriers that are stunting their success, what direct needs I can fulfill, and what education might be lacking are ways I take lead on my service.

I trained staff in the field: ensured new staff members could inform people about voting while following all legal guidelines, trained staff on how to properly complete administrative work, and coached staff on effective communication tactics. I collaborated to manage staff: enforced policies and standards with staff, promoted and terminated staff as necessary. Our campaign informed people in Kent County to vote in the State Supreme Court race and engaged with 1000s of voters at the polls. I exceeded recruitment goals through cultural competence, effective route planning, communication and persuasion. We trained staff on how to provide resources to voters including polling locations, early voting dates, and how to request an absentee ballot.

I built coalitions, raised awareness about reproductive rights, and created sustainable initiatives to ensure equitable access to abortion services worldwide. By fostering leadership skills and providing resources, I sought to amplify voices in the fight for reproductive justice and counteract restrictive policies.
