1. Administration of the disposal of salvage- Arranging the collection and disposal of motor and non-motor salvage. -Ensuring receipts from salvage disposal are acceptable and allocating these to the respective claims or salvage registers.-Liaise with Licensing Agents regarding Natis queries, dealerstocking and deregistration of Natis documents.-Ensuring that monthly targets of salvage proceeds received are met both in terms of the monetary value and percentage recoverable.-Payment of invoices from service providers.-Negotiating tenders or offers for salvage.-Determining whether it is worth collecting salvage or to abandon.-Preparation of monthly reports of salvage proceeds2. Handling of claims  Registration and processing of claims. Appointment of assessors/ loss adjusters or service providers. Review of motor assessor’s or loss adjuster’s reports. Settlement of accounts of service providers, assessors and loss adjusters. Settlement or repudiation of claims in terms of applicable policy wording.3. Appointment of Loss Adjusters Receiving requests from claims technicians to appoint assessors. Checking whether the claim is covered in terms of the policy wording. Assessing the cost-effectiveness of appointing an assessor and recommending an alternative processing method where the appointment of an assessor is inappropriate.

 Analyse statutory returns and financial statements of insurance companies to ensure solvency & other requirements of the Insurance Acts are met. Processing of applications by insurance companies in terms of the Insurance Acts. Supervision and regulation of insurance companies. Preparation for and participation in on-site visits. Compilation of annual analyses reports and presentation of quarterly analyses.
