Senior Solutions Architect
As a Senior Solutions Architect I work directly with customers (both Pre and Post Sales) and users to help them understand how they can use Hazelcast to achieve better performance and reliability. In addition to supporting a Regional Sales Manager I am a Hazelcast advocate who loves to conduct training sessions, talking at conferences, being active in the community and consulting on distributed computing problems. Additionally, I contributed to Hazelcast Best Practices, AWS Deployment Guide, and dozens of Product enhancements. I design and recommend solutions, create performance analysis, and document best practices. Provide architecture for AI and mission-critical applications, such as real-time inventory, Payment Solutions, and fraud detection. Here are a few examples of how I have assisted customers:• Capital One Payments – Using my in-depth product knowledge provided technical expertise to help them achieve the lowest latency of all Hazelcast customers along with the largest dataset. Message Driven Architecture using Hazelcast as a Finite State Machine coupled with co-located processing in a very large-scale distributed compute. Deployed originally to bare metal on AWS followed by Helm Charts, and finally Kubernetes Operator. Champion of numerous product requirements that were later rolled into the General Availability.•Dow Chemical - Delivered a full stack reactive solution for vehicle telemetry. Employing realtime data analytics with machine learning to facilitate use cases such as: Driver rating and ranking, vehicle wear rating, dangerous behaviors, and cost savings •AT&T Common Cache – Evangelized Hazelcast products and services from my previous work at AT&T. Help architect the largest Hazelcast cluster. This is an L2 Cache fronting Cassandra. Hundreds of deployments using OpenStack.• SoftComputer Lab ISS – Lead the architecture which enabled an 8000% improvement in performance by using Hazelcast IMDG for all the lab data versus the use of Oracle.

Focused on the highest visible B2B customers performing R&D, proof of concept, design, documented, communicated, hired teams for implementation, lead by example, enforced methodology and iterative staged releases in a timely manner. Additionally, I managed risk identification, risk mitigation strategies, technology migration, and mentored staff. In conclusion, I enforced architectural standards that not only enabled the disparate environments to interoperate but also provided near linear scalability (135k TPH), fault tolerant, and easy to maintain. The production environment is a WebLogic 8.1.3 cluster deployed to five series 9000 HP 11i servers using MQ Series, Service Guard, and EMC with zero points of failure in a HA environment. The entire J2EE solution utilizes a Service Oriented Architecture with Service Orchestration using BPEL and idempotent interfaces. As the chief architect I was instrumental in training each team and hands on in every aspect of the project.

Chief Technical Officer
Managed a team of engineers and architects for creating and enhancing a new product for B-to-B modeling (TradeSync). TradeSync visualized and executed business plans targeted for Supply Chain Management. Using Enterprise Java Beans for back end processing while having JSP's invoking requests from command beans. Architecture was based on research, proof of concept results, and previous known solutions. All client data was transported using XML, once received by the JSP client it was then paired up with a user specific XSL to transform the XML into either a business object or a displayable format: HTML, WML, or another form of XML. Dynamic table generation, dynamic web page generation, and self drawing objects were among the common business rules implemented. Developed meta data browsers and utilized Mutable Tree Structures for manipulating them. Complete lifecycle management, utilized tools such as TestMyBeans, Bounds Checker, and OptimizeIt to expose memory leaks and performance bottle necks. Additionally created java and perl applications for simulating massive concurrent users. As part of the setup of trading partners I assisted the integration into numerous third party tools: Designed and implemented an adaptor for MQ Series, WebMethods, JD Edwards, and SAP integration. Each messaging adaptor was used for intelligent routing and queuing of dynamic messages. Deployed on several environments: Oracle, AIX, Windows 2k, RedHat, and Solaris. Setup and administered a cluster of Weblogic servers.
Chief Architect
Designed, architected, and implemented an entire real time streaming media application framework. Utilizing Swing and Java Media Framework 2.1 for the real time media player. MediaProxy was used in conjunction with Enterprise Java Beans for event notification and streaming data feeds. Detail commercial play events are an example of the event notifications. Events were rule based and thus able to easily adapt to changing environments (language, run time, codec). Java Native Interface was used in the implementation of various mpeg, avi, jpeg, and quicktime media files via third party codec's (apple, real networks, macromedia, custom). Synchronization was handled via the Managed Controller interface (Master/Slave) coupled with JNDI lookups on the Datasources and EJB's. The player was designed for high availability with redundancy across a WebLogic 5.1.9 cluster (6 servers). Each server was a multi proc Solaris box. All media files were imported into an Oracle 8i.rc2 database (blob), using a thin client developed using JSP's and a custom developed tag library. This was a Head End Feed application deployed to various nations in Scandinavia and thus all media was sent via Satellite Communications (SatCom5). Integrated numerous locations both in and outside of America with numerous TCP protocols (X.25, HSSI, POTS, etc). A custom Secure FTP server was created to host the files across a secure socket layer (SSL). The server cluster hosted approximately 50 unique players serving different locations. Additionally, I hired and trained a team of 12, instructing them on the procedures for source code control, use case development, and the entire Rational Unified Process.
Architect & Lead
Complete replacement of a legacy system for ADT. Utilized CORBA (OMG IDL) in a Java and C++ development environment. Responsible for full life cycle of applications developed: NT Printer Server, Lock Box & Credit Card Cash Feeds, WYSIWYG Win32 & Browser GUIs, SNMP Services, and backend database development. Events were prioritized and created via CORBA Events and integrated into MQSeries for routing and delivery.
