Counting millions in hard currency at ABSA bank, and counting millions of metric litres of products at the Coca-Cola depot, and then taking all that experience in reconciling my counts back to expected quantities on endless lists and investigating variances, into an audit firm where I had to learn how to correctly report the figures to the users of annual financial statements, was only the start of my career. Insurance, an age old risk mitigating practice, is quickly becoming something more than a career to me, it is a complex dish requiring patience and multiple ingredients, some of which I am yet to discover.
