Aviation Safety Officer's are an integral part of airside safety, conducting routine patrols and inspections as well as responding to emergencies that involve passengers, employees both or dynamic incidents. Roles and responsibilities include 1. Routine Patrols2. Security3. Foreign Object Debris4. Assisting with wildlife5. Construction site inspections6. Medicals and medical escorts7. Aircraft incidents 8. Vehicle Enforcement through AVOP program9. Investigations10. Compliance The department also assist and works with Toronto Pearson Fire & Emergency Services on a variety of incidents. While the majority of work is conducted airside, Aviation Safety Officers may assist in terminal buildings, groundside or with other departments such as Public Safety Officers as needed.Additionally Aviation Safety Officers are actively engaged in the airport community through safety initiatives with various other departments such as SMS, Toronto Pearson Safety and external stakeholders safety groups.
