  • Whittier College
    Associate Professor
Whittier College Aug 2017 - Present
    Whittier, Ca, Us
I am a scientist and engineer who works in the fields of astroparticle physics and RF engineering. I teach and mentor a diverse group of undergraduate students at a Title V HSI, and publish research with undergraduate researchers. i am a member of the IceCube Gen2 Collaboration and a Faculty Fellow with the Office of Naval Research.
  • The Ohio State University
Center For Cosmology And Astro-Particle Physics (Ccapp) Fellow, Department Of Physics
The Ohio State University Aug 2015 - Aug 2017
    Columbus, Ohio, Us
This is a prestigious academic fellowship related to advanced physics research. CCAPP is an inter-disciplinary program between the Departments of Physics and Astronomy at OSU. Researchers here make gains in the physics of high-energy particle detection, cosmology, exoplanets, and quantum field theory.
  • University Of Kansas
    Postdoctoral Researcher
University Of Kansas Mar 2013 - Aug 2015
    Lawrence, Ks, Us
As a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Kansas, I made gains in the research and detection of ultra-high energy particles from deep space. This included hardware, software, and data analysis research, including desert expeditions and field work, grid computing, and data modeling and simulation. The results of this research have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals.
  • Uc Irvine
    Graduate Student Researcher
    Uc Irvine Jun 2007 - Mar 2013
    Irvine, Ca, Us
I obtained my doctorate in physics from UC Irvine, and my thesis advisor was Dr. Steven Barwick. I helped Dr. Barwick to build a neutrino detector using the natural ice formations of Antarctica as a detection medium. We deployed our first detector in Moore's Bay in 2009, and have continued to develop technology and an array of detectors there, with the goal of observing a high energy neutrino interaction in the ice. This would revolutionize the fields of astronomy and physics, in that it would be another way to learn about high energy electroweak physics, and the study of high energy astrophysics.
  • Los Alamos National Laboratory
    Undergraduate Student Researcher
Los Alamos National Laboratory Jun 2005 - Aug 2005
    Los Alamos, Nm, Us
I earned an internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory through the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP) in the summer of 2005. I worked with Dr. Brenda Dingus on the Milagro project, a high energy gamma ray detector in the mountains of New Mexico. I was responsible for measuring muon fluxes from cosmic rays as a function of altitude, a signature of cosmic ray interactions for the experiment.
