As a software engineer, I am given the task of creating and fixing, but that isn't what makes things fun. Architecture. How a thing is designed. This is what gives me the greatest pleasure in my field and in my learning goals. I enjoy seeing what design create, problems they solve, and when they are appropriate. Each architecture is also dictated by the business value it provides causing the when to implement a specific one, an intriguing proposition. Often a design practice being the best practice doesn't show itself as the highest business value and thus shutters the use.Outside of my professional role, I am a father of two and they consume the rest of my time. As the cliche goes, my sons are the greatest thing that have happened to me. What many may only seldom come to terms with though is why they are so excited. As an adult, I relive what it is to be a child. In the moments of play and laughter, I am granted the bliss of times past. The freedom to be silly and it is considered normal again. I get to go to work and learn many wondrous things and come home and experience all of my life experiences over and over again, but this time with little companions.
