Scientific Journal: SAE Brazil2020-36-0104 || Year of publication: 2020Category: Transportation SystemsPaper Title: Economic-Financial Viability of Deliveries by DronesAbstract: In view of the current urban mobility scenario and the high demand for freight for goods deliveries, several researches and tests are being carried out to solve this bottleneck in the logistics sector, with drones/RPAS (remotely piloted aircraft systems) being the preferred modal of study groups and technology companies. Therefore, this research aims to verify whether RPAS are a viable economic-financial alternative to deliver small parcels (up to 2.5 kg) in the Greater ABC region of São Paulo. Having as initial sections articles already published on analysis of the RPAS and e-commerce market, Prime Air service, operating costs, regulation of its commercial use and its environmental sustainability. Conducted by the quantitative research method, with an exploratory and comparative character, the survey of primary data is carried out, through questionnaires carried out with 20 motoboys and observations, such as the amount charged by motorcycle freight companies in each mentioned region, and secondary data through the literature. The research concluded that the use of RPAS in the region is viable in terms of cost-benefit, since the greater the number of drones used, the lower the cost of operation, in this way, the economic-financial analysis presented positive indicators for even small and medium entrepreneurs. The continuity of this research will benefit the indicated region, where it has conditions considered ideal for the implementation of a modal like this, due to its population density. More research is needed on the types of regulations that Brazil can adopt for this new delivery model that is under development, including the release to carry out local tests, thus expanding the sample space for the Brazilian reality.
