Microfluidics Researcher

Tokyo, Japan

• Developed an integrated microfluidic device for on-chip 3D continuous accumulation of nanoscale samples. The device holds significant potential to focus latex, metal, and biomaterial samples. (Results published in Electrophoresis, 2022).• Improved an in-house alignment tool for assembly of integrated multi-layer (flow channels and electrodes) microfluidic platform. • Designed an experimental setup for fluorescence microscopic analysis to evaluate accumulation device performance.• Skilled in cleanroom microfabrication process (Thin film sputtering, photolithography, wet/dry etching, surface treatment, and plasma bonding,) • Works on an electrokinetic technique to generate a hydrodynamic flow that can be used to control the accumulation position of rare species in a microfluidic device. (Preliminary results published in PSFVIP13, 2022).• Acts as a mentor for research projects for under and post-grad students.

Oct 2020 - Apr 2024

Microscale Measurement Researcher

Tokyo, Japan

• Developed non-intrusive thermometry for local and temporal high-temperature mapping in a Hele-Shaw cell based on the laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) technique. (Results published in Experiments in Fluids).• Applied LIF technique to examine the temperature distribution for the liquid phase in a high heat flux boiling regime at a confined space where multiple boiling bubbles emerge. (Results published in Journal of Thermal Science and Technology).
