Project: Fractography of ceramic compression samples-Performed optical microscopy in order to characterize fracture surfaces in ceramic samples, which aided in the identification of fractography patterns-Investigated imperfections in ceramic sample’s fracture surfaces in order to identify voids found in the sample, which resulted in a new hypothesis on ceramic stress response

-Designed multiple experiments to improve sputtering and ion milling processes, with the goal of optimizing production processes for the reader component of wafers-Worked in a clean room environment to conduct experiments using thin film deposition, focused ion beam, and ellipsometry tools-Tested AI recognition program to see if technology could potentially increase detection of imperfections in early stages of wafer production

Project: Nanoindentaion of lithium metal-Assisted in nanoindentation of pure lithium and lithium alloys to observe how the material responded to stress-Analyzed data using MATLAB and Kaleidagraph softwares to compare relationship between strain rate and indentation depth for different types of lithium

Project: Elimination of surface contaminates in stainless steel-Developed and tested surface treatments to eliminate surface contaminants in stainless steel catheter shafts which helped the material meet new biocompatibility standards-Conducted surface roughness analysis on treated stainless steel samples in order to determine the influence of the surface treatments on surface geometry-Collaborated with two subject experts to conduct XPS and ICP analysis of samples to measure the amount of surface contamination present in the samples after treatment
